Physical Therapy Schools In North Carolina

Physical Therapy Schools in North Carolina are focused on training students for the ultimate goal of obtaining a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) in preparation for a career in Physical Therapy, or in other words, to become a Physical Therapist. Below are listed the main Physical Therapy Schools in North Carolina but are not listed in any particular order.

Preparing For Physical Therapy Schools in North Carolina

Many of the physical therapy schools in North Carolina recommend logging hours doing volunteer work or “shadowing” physical therapists at several physical therapy centers or hospitals.  It looks best to the admissions personnel if you have shadowed at a variety of physical therapy schools or clinics.  This proves that you have a good idea about what the work environment is like and that you are truly serious about enrolling in a physical therapy school in North Carolina.  You may want to make it a point to spend time at private practices, sports medicine clinics, home health agencies, pediatric facilities, skilled nursing centers and physical therapy schools.

Having a variety of experiences working under physical therapists will be more valuable than hundreds of hours doing the same assistant tasks for only one doctor.  The wider range of experience will enable you to talk more intelligently about the profession as a whole and will ultimately help you gain admission to physical therapy school.  Plan on volunteering somewhere between 60 to 200 hours at a variety of health organizations to insure that if you are required to interview with a faculty member, you will be able to sound proficient in all areas of physical therapy.
